My Background and Approach to Organizing
-
I didn't enter the world with a love for organizing. Instead, it developed slowly over time. I first felt a thrill from organizing in college (while living in a room the size of a large closet) when I discovered that I could maximize space by making minor changes. Later on in college, organizing became my preferred choice for procrastinating. Over time, that morphed into a need to have my surroundings tidy in order to think and focus. I have learned that being organized externally helps me feel more organized internally.
-
I’m not a “Type A” organizer who is looking to make your home “social- media ready.” I’m friendly and approachable. I have experience working with individuals with Chronic Disorganization and hoarding tendencies. In addition, I’ve worked with people with ADHD, various mental health diagnoses, and executive functioning challenges. I have a “roll up my sleeves and get to work” attitude, and I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty.

The name “Giddy-Up! Organizing” came to me through working with clients and noticing that getting started is often the most difficult step. I wanted a name that projected energy, partnership, and some lightheartedness. However, I am mindful that it is not a light decision to invite an unknown person into your home. For some people, asking for help with organizing can bring up feelings of guilt, embarrassment, or shame. Clients tell me that they appreciate my kindness, compassion, and authenticity.

I was born and raised in the Twin Cities.
I love animals and will fall in love with your pet(s). (Even your Komodo dragon.)
My experience as an Occupational Therapist includes 6 years in Pediatrics followed by 16 years in Special Education with the public schools. I currently provide professional in-home support for individuals with physical and/or mental health challenges.
